Offshore equipment can cost upwards of $1 million dollars a day to operate. Unscheduled down-time can quickly impact critical schedules and budgets. Quality and Reliability must be built into these equipments to allow them to operate within company projections to produce the revenue they were intended to yield. USA has the experience and expertise to ensure that these equipments are built with the requisite quality and reliability to meet the challenges that the offshore environment poses. USA also has the experience to ensure that offshore equipment of all types continue to operate throughout their life cycle with minimized down-time and maximized operational effiiciency.
The introduction of Multi-plex (MUX) digital controls for offshore systems has resulted in an information and data source that has the potential to provide significant savings in maintenance, unscheduled down-time, equipment replacement costs, and operational costs. The data generated by MUX control systems can be recorded and analyzed to allow process control and equipment usage/wear-out information to be generated. From this information, equipment replacement requirements can be changed from a "time change"-replacement cycle to an "on-condition" replacement program. Commercial aircraft programs and the U.S. Space Agency have used this program for years to reduce cost and improve equipment operational reliability. USA possesses both the personnel expertise and the computational analysis cpability required to guide any company into the world of strict process control, information-based equipment maintenance programs, and reduced operational costs.
Dr. Edwards Deming, the motivating force behind the quality revolution in Japan, had a simple approach to complex technical systems: "If you can't measure it, you can't manage it." USA also has adopted this mantra. We believe that effective Quality and Reliability Programs are based on measured (statistical and empiracal) data and results. This approach has served us well during our support to the most complex program in the world - The Space Shuttle Program.
